Cold Days
The newsletter this week will be brief. As the end of the year gets closer, meetings and planning tend to go into hibernation. I am currently waiting on some information from the County and the State to help me better understand the impact of property taxes for next year, and I hope to provide an update on that soon.
This week
ISD 728 Community Partners Meeting
Earlier this week I attended the ISD 728 Community Partners Meeting. There were a few topics discussed and updates provided by the community participants. The School Board has recommitted to holding off on any referendums until after 2026, which is welcome news. Additionally, the District is currently adapting to new legislation around the Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) laws.
On that note, the I94 West Chamber of Commerce is hosting an informative event for any manager or business owner to learn more about ESST. The event will be held here in Otsego, at the Wyndham Garden, on Wednesday November 8th from 2:30p - 4:00p.

I was also surprised to hear that the District is considering the possibility of building a swimming pool with one potential location being somewhere near the Prairie View Middle School.
Next Week
Planning Commission Meeting Canceled
The Planning Commission will not be meeting for their regular meeting next week due to a lack of agenda items.
